We all knew the day would come, of course, monitor companies would find a way to ensure projectors deliver quality gaming experiences. While we still have a ways to go before we hit Esports-level performance specs on the projectors, we’re certainly getting closer. One thing BenQ has achieved with its new line of gaming projectors is to deliver a stunning visual experience. Today we’re reviewing the TK700 4K HDR, 60Hz, 3200 lumens, 16ms low input lag gaming projector for $1399.

This is the first gaming projector we’ve had a chance to get our hands on here at GLYFE Nation, so I think it’s important that we identify why anyone would buy one. These are for gamers who want to create the cinematic experience. Single-player action-adventure games (we call it DVD Games) with a massive surround-sound system to accompany a 150-inch screen. Titles like God of War, Tomb Raider or Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy based on the TK700 specs would provide an excellent gaming experience. a competitively online MOBA.

BenQ gives you options to sacrifice viewing experience for performance on this model. Depending on your application, you can choose between these options [email protected]: 16.67ms, [email protected]: 4.16ms, [email protected]: 8.33ms, [email protected]: 16.67ms. The room space for these lamp projectors as recommended by BenQ is 100″ at 8.2ft/2.5m, 150″ at 12.03ft/3.75m or whatever below of course. Fortunately, we had access to a quality projection screen in our establishment, which allowed us to maximize our viewing experience. Prices on these screens vary but it’s a must, the difference in quality between bare wall and a screen is huge. At 4K 60Hz, the viewing experience absolutely “Slaps”, but you do notice input lag a bit.

A closer look at the TK700 reveals a competitive viewing experience, even against a high-end TV screen. Its brightness measured in ANSI lumens is rated at 3200, which is very respectable. The color display offers brilliant 30-bit projection at 1.07 billion colors. On board you will also find two HDMI input ports, one with eARC audio return. Not sure if it’ll get much use out of it, but the TK700 has built-in sound pumped through a 5W chamber speaker. It looks as good on screen as it does in paper, I’m really impressed with the quality of the projection.

A niche product like this would mostly appeal to the casual gamer. Although I can see hardcore players having a setup like this as an alternative when they don’t have the energy to climb the ranks. It’s truly an epic experience once you set it up properly it completely changed my view of the spotlight. I think this product is worth every penny and we would love to have one in the studio!
