Course available for families of people with mental illness

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Butler County will be offering a free family-to-family educational course from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays March 9-April 27 in person at the office, Holly Pointe Building, 220 S. Hand. Saint, butler.

The course is delivered by trained family members with life experience and is aimed at family members, relatives and friends of people with a mental health condition. Topics will include current treatments and therapies, finding local support services, crisis management, problem solving, and managing your own stress.

Tickets on sale for the Leechburg Spaghetti Benefit Dinner

The Marconi Club of Leechburg will host a spaghetti dinner in aid of Delores Lucjak’s medical expenses from 1-4 p.m. on March 6 at the club Mirror Room, 135 River Ave.

The menu will include spaghetti, salad and bread and there will be a cash bar and a 50/50 draw. The cost is $8 per plate and items from a dessert table will be available for $1 each. No take-out orders will be available.
