What a fun idea. Bordentown City is hosting its first-ever PorchFest, according to the Bordentown Arts website.

Save this date. It will be Saturday, April 30 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (rain or shine).

You might be wondering what PorchFest is…let me explain…you’re invited, by the way.

PorchFest is going to be a fabulous event where throughout the day you will wander around the beautiful town of Bordentown listening to all the different types of musicians perform on the porches of the residents. You can bring a blanket or a chair and relax on the lawn in front of the houses that host the artists. I LOVE IT. While you’re in town, plan to dine at one of the fabulous restaurants in and around Farnsworth Avenue.

If you’re a Bordentown City resident, you can volunteer your porch as a mini stage, and if you’re an artist, you can volunteer to play on someone’s porch. The organizers are looking for musicians of all genres and styles.

I know what you’re thinking. How will you know where to find all the porch artists? Don’t worry, a schedule and walking guide will be available before the event. Did I mention this is a FREE event? Yes, absolutely free. Bring your family and friends for an awesome afternoon.

I immediately tell my neighbors about it and launch our own version in our neighborhood. MDR. In fact, I’m pretty serious. I think that would be a really good time.
