Professional services firm Tilney Smith & Williamson has been renamed Evelyn Partners.

The financial planning firm, which has offices in south west Bristol and Bournemouth, said the new name reflected the company’s “single focus”. The new brand is named after Evelyn Gardens, the 1893 London address of one of the company’s founders, the company said.

Bestinvest, the group’s online investment platform for DIY investors that was recently relaunched as a hybrid digital service, will remain a separate brand.

Chris Woodhouse, managing director of Evelyn Partners, said:[The rebrand] marks a new chapter for the company, one that celebrates the integration of our heritage businesses and reflects that we are one company united by our purpose – to put the power of good advice in more hands.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our employees, customers and intermediaries who have given their time to provide feedback on our brand and those who have assisted in its development and implementation. We look forward to maintaining our high standards for customer service under our new name and brand identity.

The announcement comes less than two years after professional services firms Tilney and Smith & Williamson merged. The deal saw the group become the UK’s third largest wealth manager by revenue and fourth by assets under management.

Nigel Hardy, Managing Partner at Evelyn Partners in Bristol, added: “After successfully moving into our Bristol office last year, Tilney and Smith & Williamson have been working together seamlessly for some time. The new unified brand means that we are now one group.
